About Talero

Where the name comes from — and why we built the app.

What does Talero mean?

Talero comes from the Thaler — a silver coin first minted in Jáchymov, Czechia. You probably know its modern descendant: the dollar. We are building this app in Czechia, and we just loved the idea of a local piece of financial history that went global. It's a nod to money you can count on.

Why Talero exists

It started out of pure frustration. Standard expense trackers restrict you and force you into their rigid templates. Spreadsheets give you freedom, but as your finances grow more complex, maintaining them becomes a fragile nightmare. Talero connects the best of both.

We built it for people who want their own dashboards, custom categories, and zero hand-holding. Hide what you don't need. Turn on advanced modules only when you actually use them.

If simple apps no longer cut it, but you refuse to give up spreadsheet-level freedom, give it a try.
